Halong Bay Cruise for Solo Travellers – What Changes Alone

Everything on the boat is the same: the route, the meals, the kayak stop and the guide. What changes is the cabin. Overnight cruises price a cabin for two people sharing, and the price you see is per person on that basis. Book one guest and the calendar adds a single supplement, the price of the empty half of the cabin.

On the most booked one-night ship that is $90, which takes the cruise from $187 to $277 before the $25 transfer. Cruise prices are for one adult on a departure on 7 October 2026, checked 27 September 2026; the Hanoi transfer is $25 per person on most of these ships ($30 on Renea), and some add holiday or peak-season charges. The supplement buys the same cabin a couple would have, with its own bathroom, and on the 5-star ships a private balcony; on the most booked one-night ship, a bathtub facing the sea as well. No listing we read sells a smaller single cabin at a lower price: you get the double or twin room to yourself.

Some cruises tie the supplement to the cabin class. The Ha Long and Bai Tu Long cruise asks $60 for its deluxe cabin with an ocean window, $80 for the 5-star option with a private balcony and $125 for the 6-star option with balcony and bathtub, all paid at check-in. On the three-day cruise with private balconies the single cabin costs $170.
