For honeymoons and anniversaries the crew sets up the cabin on request, and a birthday cake comes if the birthday falls on the cruise; both need an email before the trip.

Transfer from Hanoi or Ninh Binh

The $187 buys the cruise. The shared transfer costs $25 per person, and it is flexible: Hanoi to Ha Long and back, Ninh Binh to Ha Long and on to Hanoi, or Hanoi to Ha Long and on to Ninh Binh. The limousine collects you in the Old Quarter at 8:00 or in Ninh Binh at 7:00.

The drive to Tuan Chau takes 2.5 to 3 hours from Hanoi and about 3.5 hours from Ninh Binh. Back on land at the end of the cruise, you reach the Old Quarter at about 15:00 and Ninh Binh about an hour later: early enough for an evening train, too late for an afternoon flight.

About 23 of the 31 hours from door to door. Pickup in the Old Quarter is at 8:00, you board around 12:00 and you are back in the Old Quarter at about 15:00 the next day. The rest is 2.5 hours of road each way and the tender between the pier and the ship.

is the transfer from hanoi included?

No. The $187 is the cruise only. The shared transfer costs $25 per person and can run Hanoi to Ha Long and back, or start or end in Ninh Binh: pickup there is at 7:00, drop-off at about 16:00. You can also make your own way to Tuan Chau Marina and board there.

does every cabin have a balcony?
